I'm not selling anything, but I thought I would just mention that there is a Airtight ATC 2 Pre amp for sale on ebay co uk
Current bid is 390 pounds sterling and rising gradually with 2 days to go. The item I believe is located in N Spain.
Apparently it is new, I did not realise they made the unit with a charcoal face instead of the brushed alumimium silver.
Very tempting indeed!! It will be interesting to see what it finally goes for. It sure is hard living in a recession!!!

Not yet, it isn't. Look on in awe as the autobids take it to "normal" levels about a microsecond before the auction ends...

Yes good point, I thought it was too good to be true. However the photos are very good and I am undecided if the charcoal face looks better than the brushed alumimium. Anybody any idea at how much these usually retail at? I would have thought somewhere around 5 to 6K would be a ballpark figure, but I could be wrong.

But at this stage I would have thought the bidding would have been much higher, closer to 1K at least.

Personally, I *love* the charcoal face. If I were in a position to buy, I'd be going for that finish.

This may yet be a bargain, no doubt about it.

The seller has good feedback, but mainly for very cheap items (£0.99 to £20), and nothing over £100, a lot of it fishing tackle. Could this be a scam?

Yes it is strange, well spotted there Ciaran. However I believe you would be protected by paypal, well protected in the sense that you could prove to paypall that the item was never recieved. But I am suspicious, something does not smell right. Should there not be a reserve on such a expensive item? And why the hidden identities of the bidders?

keeping identifies of bidders secret is not unusual. The guy selling is listed as being in the uk. He probably has either holiday home in spain or has moved there but hasn't updated his profile. He is a member for 3yrs so hopefully shouldnt be a scam .I am often amazed how people sell expensive items without any reserve as it would seem very possible that due to lack of interest an item could end up going very cheap. This rarely seems to happen. I always feel that there is a bidder in the back ground prepared to outbid people to ensure this doesnt happen. In that case the sale doesnt complete and the item ends up relisted fairly quickly. I have no proof but have seen sold items relisted.
paying through paypal is your protection.

This is almost definitely a scam. First of all, the fellas name is Mark (from all the other fishing tackle sales) and from those he obviously has good "colloqial" english. Also, all of his ads look exactly the same with the same font etc. Now here are 2 auctions for desirable pieces of audio equipment, but in a different font, with a few english mistakes.

Another clue is that the ad mentions how it was bought for a customer who then turned it down..... but our seller Mark is not a trader. I also found one of the pictures used ona google search, but from a spanish auction site where the item is no longer available: http://benalupcasasviejas.olx.es/air-ti ... -141495178

I haven't done it, but if you look at the other auction for the "northern western electric" amplifiers I'm sure similar anomalies will turn up... the firs tone being that it should be "Western Electric" not northern......

Run a mile, and forget you ever saw it!
