yes, something like this.

or any other home-made stuff ?

i was using those foldable plastic crates once but it made me cry to see my
vinyls in it really, and since then i just keep them stacked beside eachother...

i was wondering though, if using mentioned ikeas shelves, dont they buckle if
stored vertically after some time ?

No, I have one for over a year now - the shelves are thicker amd don't sag. But you must bolt it to the wall.....

Second that ,You cant beat expedit for price and bonus is it looks decent as well. Home study was kitted out with the stuff. You can even get a table top that connects to the book(vinly) shelfs. I took it apart to bring with us when we moved. A bit of a mistake. I think its really assemble once only

i wonder though - those expedit shelves they say i need to mount on wall
(with 4 opes in them) - i guess no problems just keepin them on the floor instead wall mounting ?

They stand on the floor but you need to fix them to the wall st the top - this stops them falling from side to side or toppling forwards.

I think they do a free standing version now but I'm not certain - oh and something else, I referred to this as expedit shelves back up teh thread, but its actually expedit bookcase I think..... and see the one with the thicker shelves - I think they are better.
