Good Design

Post by Gerry D »

I have always admired some audio kit for it's great design quality.
from an aesthetic point of view that is. Some great looking stuff can sound rubbish.

Sonus Faber looks 'the dogs'. Acoustic Research has lovely industrial quality. Valve kit mostly looks great.
And of course Bang and Olufsen is way up there when it comes to product design.
I think that they've surpassed themselves with this ...

B&O always had great designers, pity about the quality. Mind you their TVs always managed to look great, produce an amazing picture & sound and also cost more than the IMF could afford to pay.
Vinyl -anything else is data storage.

Sure looks nice. I wonder how it sounds?

I did a job in a house on Shelbourne rd a couple of years ago, and they had B&O install a system throughout the house.

The tv's were on motorized brackets and the speakers were all active of various sizes.

I wouldn't buy B & O either Ivor. But I still maintain that that particular thang is some tidy piece of work.

What about these 'speakers from Living Voice ?

I've mentioned http://www.audiolincs.co.uk/wtsnew.php a few times as I've bought stuff there myself (superb service) but I often go there just to look at the shiny objects of desire. I try not to drool on the keyboard but really a bib is advised.
