While browsing around, I happened upon mention of this turntable. It looks really interesting....

I have seen some really bad press/reviews on this. I thought they had actually withdrawn/paused building it. Not sure what the current state is - but it may all be OK now - they did pause but came back with a new pulley system which is supposed to address the speed issues.

Anyway maybe dig a little deeper on it

There's a further (guardedly positive) review in the current March '21 Stereophile issue. I was reading it at the kitchen table but only got half way and then the pancakes ran out. I'll follow its progress....

So would you go as far as to say it's actually...

No, no, I won't do the obvious joke. Look on in awe at my restraint.

In the setup video, there is visible runout and warp in the platter. A later review video doesn't talk about any of those things though.

However, its the unipivot arm I was looking at. Apparently you can but the wands complete for $199, and all you would need to complete the job is a single point for it to sit on. 11" too so longer than usual.

Here's a review ..

Basically hard to set-up but probably worth the effort. Would need a wall-shelf if on a wooden floor. I don't like the uni-pivot arm which are hard to cue. Personally like the old fashioned arms with a damped raise-lower device.
