tweeter dead

I haven't been listening much at all recently...events & life momentum taking time.
I recently decided toplug in and found that a tweeter on one of my B&W 802 Diamond speakers is silent....all connections/cables seem to be okay...is this a case of coughing up fo a new tweeter (600 +) or is there another possibility?
