Was doing some adjustments to my turntable today, tracking etc and somehow I must have knocked the cantilever on my Dynavector 10X cartridge. Don't know how I did it or if it was there for sometime and missed it. The cantilever has about a 30 degree offset to the centre line, so quite a sizeable knock. Its was always a risk as the DV X10 does not come with a safety guard. Really annoyed as I am so careful with it anytime i do adjustments.

So I am in the market for a new cartridge. The Dynavector was/ is a very good cartridge for the pricw but want to look for an improvement.

Anyone have to hand or selling something better that the DV x10 that I could buy/trial? The arm is a modified Rega RB300.

Any suggestions?

I see lots of good stuff written about the Hana SL but haven''t got to hear one..... I've always been a fan of benz carts, I run a Benz SL and loved it from day 1.

Don't chuck the dynavector - you could consider a retip - Schallplattennadeln.de does a very good job at a very reasonable price.

I use the Hana EL at the moment. Lovely cart. SL definitely on the short list in the futum :-).

Fran, the Titanium is going to Soundsmith shortly for a re-womble. Pity Clearaudio are a bunch of robbers on the trade-in front. Hope you`re keeping well. Dave.

I certainly won't ditch the DV. It is a great cartridge for the price. It still plays. I'll look at getting it retipped. Thanks Fran.

I have been looking at the Hana SL. Gets really excellent reviews and forum feedback. Seems that there is a significant difference between the low and high output.
I had been considering an upgrade to the DV10x5 for a while and was thinking of going up the DV range. However the Hana for the price point seems to be a real contender. Benz SL looks impressive but outside my price point at this stage.

With sterling exchange good I'll check some UK dealers.
