Wish you could get it without a power supply.

Certainly could be interesting but it looks like it would defy modding. At least, for me.

If the SOEKRIS died I would try one of these.

Two toroids = double trouble for mains noise susceptibility.

If you want just a PCB R2R DAC, looks like Audio-gd has a fairly cheap one going. No word on how it sounds though.

Yes think I'll play with a few of them

It's the fpga and oversampling of the soekris I'm trying to avoid and get a decent clock signal into the shift registers
Been 3.3v and having digital and analog sections is a bonus

Seems to me Soekris by baking in as a permanent feature the 8X OS that he's probably not getting the best dynamics out of his DAC. I don't think I've come across a single listener who has compared sample rates who said OS sounded more dynamic than NOS.

i emailed audiop dg
see what response is, says on website not released yet
it's more of a blank canvas so to speak
hard to know where to start with the soekris 1101 so much could be done differently
as far as usb powered dacs go it doesn't sound too shabby
mine is no 36 i guess they didnt sell that well, maybe it will do better with the price reduction
the case makes it look and feel like a 50 quid dac
reviews say the headphone out aint all that fabulous, line out been much better,
but guess Richard would say that's not all that surprising the way they handled the noise at the output

Oh no. How can I NOT buy several of those.

Audio-GD web page is almost as hard to decipher as one of nige's posts! :P

It looks like two boards are required for the audio-gd?

I only see a completed DAC on their page.

They don't sell just the little boards, right?
