Perhaps one of you can guide me here.
My Naim DAC has a light on the front that illuminates to show " that the clock is precisely synchronised with the input stream"

This lights up when my Squeezebox is attached by optical or co-axial.
I have the SOSE attached optically and the light goes out after about 16 seconds and there is a 1/2 second pause or gap in the music as it turns off.
There are various connections that the SOSE can output and it happens with all - RoonReady, squeezelite and AirPlay.

If I stop a piece of music and start another the light goes back on for the 15 seconds and then goes off again.

Plug back in SBT, everything back to normal.

The sound to my ears is harsher when the sync light goes off but I am open to admit that the light going off could be influencing me as when 2 lights go on to show hi-Res I usually "hear" an improvement.

From your experience here do you know what's happening?

Not from experience, but the SOSE throws the clock-frequency of the SPDIF signal so far off the standard, that it doesn't match any of the 10 preset clock frequencies in the Naim DAC reclocker anymore. Naim DAC will switch over to a general reclocking algorithm in software which doesn't work as well as the cristal based frquencies.

Any device that will not sync properly with the Naim DAC, I would seriously doubt its quality and I would certainly throw it out.

aleg is right its probably a sloppy signal it cant lock to
mini computers are more a tool of convenience than of audiophilia in my experience

That's the "yoke" but it's optimised by Sonore.

The software on it actually works quite well letting you choose from several option, Roon, squeezlite, AirPlay,NAA, etc.
