I've inherited some equipment; how best to sell it?

Hi,

Earlier this year my dad, a life long Hi-Fi enthusiast, passed away and I've inherited all his gear; including a Meridian 506 CD, a Heybrook TT2 turntable and 2 Linn LP-12s. There's also a variety of other pre and power amps, cassette decks and speakers.

While I'm loath to get rid of it the reality is I don't have room to keep it all, let alone set it up.

I see there is a Classifieds forum here, but as I'm new I don't want to spam it with For Sale ads; so my question is, what other ways are there to ensure it goes to a good home?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum. Are you located in Ireland? I'm sure if you pm site admin "Fran" and explain the situation he will give you some direction.

First of commiserations on the passing of your father.
There's absolutely no problem advertising his stuff here, none at all. I'd suggest you google every piece of equipment individually to get an idea of value and advertise accordingly. Post one big ad and then, as an item sells, just delete it from the original listing or mark as SOLD. In the current climate it can sometimes take a while for stuff to sell so be patient!

Welcome to the forum Jeffeld.

You mention 2 LP12 turntables ..

The LP12 has lots and lots of options and the price varies massively ..

You need to know ..
power supply ..
arm ..
cartridge ..

[There were later updates to the motor and chassis but they are probably not relevant]
