Lovely!! [I am a fellow Linn owner, so considerable bias here!!]
I would be curious about how you find the AT OCS cart compared with others that you may have owned.

Ah lovely indeed :)
I used to own an ATOC5 mc cartridge once on the exact same set up as your own. A brilliant Ian Rankin review convinced me to get it :) It was a lovely cartridge too but the sheer hassle of getting it retipped didn't appeal at all so for better or worse I went back to the moving magnets.....which obviously don't have that certain delicacy that mc's have in spades. Much like, I suppose, the difference between ribbon and dome tweeters....

I'm very pleased with the Audio Technica Fergus. The turntable dates from 1986 but I've only had it for a few years. It was supplied to me with a Supex SM100 moving magnet cartridge which was very good. My first LP12 (going back to 1979) had a Grace G707 and Supex SD900 Super. It was fabulous! So detailed and fast. Unfortunately I managed to snap the cantilever and opted for a Linn Asak (made by Supex I believe). It had much the same character as the 900 with that same sense of attack and precision. I sold the lot in the mid 80's. Fast forward 30 odd years!... I fitted the AT cartridge, replacing the Supex MM and ran it through a Dynavector P75 III with superb results. A great tracker, sufficient mass for the Ittok arm and music wise - just plain versatile! It doesn't reveal as the 900 or Asak did, but then it's a quarter of the price. T

Thank you for that Terry.

Very nice photo and lovely looking LP12. I coveted one back in the day but my funds were directed to more mundane things
as I had what I mistakenly believed was a top notch Pioneer rack system.

Cheers Tony. It was a really beautiful morning with the low light streaming in.
