Replacing UK/IE wall socket with a schuko socket

Does anyone know if its safe/possible to replace a standard duplex UK/IE wall socket like
this with a Schuko dual wall socket (thinking something like a Furutech FP-SWS-D(R)).

Basically my power cables are all Schuko and this would just make like a lot easier.

I'd have to get an electrician to fit it.

Short answer - I don't think you'll get a sparks to do it for you, those plugs are probably not to code here so wouldn't pass inspection.

That's assuming the pics of the schuko one is the ones that come up online with the euro type socket.

You can try of course!! Some euro countries are 220V and use those kinds of sockets, so it might be Ok.

Hi

You can replace the sockets without any problems the screws will fit in as they are in this same position, you will still have this same cable layout and all EU is using at the moment 230V and the switches/sockets are certificated for 250v, the socket is earthed and is certificated in to EU standards.

The differences are:

No switch - but if you are looking for proper audio grade wall socket you will buy one without switch anyway,

No fuse in the plug - but that is actually good cos who need another fuse in power line in to your fused audio equipment? (on the whole world only UK and Ireland have extra fuse added to the plug)

You can turn around the plug - this is actually a something what I dont like cos some of the components are sensitive to that change.
