You can use google translate ...

http://translate.google.com/#

It is not perfect but not too bad either ...

Here is how the automatic translation starts ...

"....

It happened at that time, as a proud knight named Michael Exner decided, from now on an electrostatic transducer with the name of ESL 57 to hear his music.

He contacted pointed out by messenger his friend Michael Methe music to experience it with this extraordinary achievement known to do his positive.

Michael Methe soon made himself and his friend Olaf Pudeck music on the trip in the not too far lying Sauerland, for hospitality by Ritter Exner and his charming little wife Viola to enjoy the well-known.

After an excellent meal with good wine and good conversation mundendem began an eventful afternoon at the Castle of Exner, who clear traces in the ideas of Ritter Pudeck Methe and left ....

The historical introduction is not meant seriously, I have chosen the bottom out, so we now talk from a transducer, which in 1957 was presented to the public in the years and today about 54 000 times was built up and will continue to be produced.

The German company will make you a new Quad ESL or a new Quad ESL-63 ... See the price list ..

http://www.quad-musik.com/Quad_classics.pdf

The prices are ...

ESL 57 QA, the todays version of the ESL57 --- € 7.790,00

ESL 63 QA, the todays version of the ESL63 --- € 9.490,00

[including German VAT].

It might make sense for someone who really really really wants the original Quad ESL but I think the latest Quads speakers [from Quad themselves] are a development of the ESL-63 and are not much dearer than the German version.

Someone just bought a second-hand set of ESL-63 for € 400 and that sounds like really good value.

Hi Chaps,

Just browsing the www today, came across a site in Singapore, www.hifi.com.sg some of you audiophiles may already be familiar with this site.

On the header there is a section "Gallery", 116 pages of photos of hi fi set ups. In addition the pages seem to load quickly as well. Lots and lots of Advantgarde Horn speakers and Audio Note equipment. In addition there are some very nice Airtight amplifiers and I think the Leben range of Integrated amps are very very nice. Some of the photos are of the same theme. On the other hand if you were thinking of upgrading and wanted to know what your new amp would look like then these sites are invaluable.

Also of interest is a device called the Nitty Gritty cleaning machine for LP. Anybody on here used one of these?
