Try it out for free for 7 days, then keep listening for EUR 19.99/month so not too bad if that's yer thing.

So I've been playing with Tidal over the weekend.
It's attractive to me for a number of reasons;
-I need to purchase a second Spotify account in any case as the Kids are avid Spotify users and more times than not, they have the family/shared account in use on one of their many devices when I want to listen.
-There's an integration path via ickStream with LMS/Squeezebox which I use throughout the house.
-44/16 FLAC streaming
I set up the trial account on my MacBook Air and started browsing the libraries. There's a lot there and I managed to map most of what I had in Spotify, with a few exceptions. For example, one of my favourite albums on Spotify is the Deluxe edition of The Peter Malick Group's 'New York' which has all of the remixes (many of which are better than the originals). On Tidal, only the base album is available.
Next, I set up ickStream on my LMS and added my Tidal account. This went quite smoothly initially and I could play Tidal content throughout the house. However, after a couple of days, it stopped working. It turned out to be an issue with the ickStream platform (which in fairness is still in beta) and the response on forums was quite quick and comprehensive.
Then, the Tidal app itself stopped working. This time, an issue with Tidal which they acknowledged on their site. The web player and mobile player was unaffected.
While it sounds GREAT, I'm not sure I want to pay €20 p/m to be an eternal beta tester. I'll continue for a few months and see if it's any more stable than first impressions might otherwise indicate. Plus, getting the desktop app to output to ASIO devices is tricky and there's no JRiver integration or remote control (that I can see) yet so it's not quite fully meeting my needs.

I have Tidal running through my SBT also.
Certainly seems to sound better than Spotify but I wouldn't necessarily be sure of a blind test 100% result.
I like their curated playlists though..............

".....
Jay Z held a news conference in New York filled with some of the biggest names in music to promote his newly acquired streaming site Tidal.
The news conference opened with a history of music before highlighting that Tidal is owned by artists and will "continue to evolve." A Tidal representative said the relaunched streaming site would also include full offline play, just like Spotify.
Then a long series of musicians was introduced, including Jay Z, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Jack White, J Cole, Daft Punk, Madonna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Chris Martin, Jason Aldean, Usher, and Arcade Fire.
