Ok in know it's not at the bleeding edge, but I have a library issue with itunes.....

I ripped all my CDs on my desktop which is running Mavericks....

Got all the metadata how I like it and sorted all my album artwork

My issue now is that my Mac mini for CA is running 10.4.11 so my iTunes is v9, which means it uses xml instead of itl for the library, I've imported all the music and the metadata is spot on but a lot of the artwork got left behind; get album artwork is mostly useless especially for classical.

Anyone know of a way to import the album artwork from the itl library?

Hi Johnny,
I can't quite remember all the details, but apparently iTunes stores the album image data in two ways; either embedded in each song file or in an external linked folder called Album Artwork if the album is downloaded from iTunes store.

I use home sharing to move songs/albums from my desktop machine to the mini connected to the hi-fi.
I see you've already imported your songs but If both your machines are on the same network, you can move the songs/albums from the desktop to the mini using home sharing - in the iTunes file menu (I think its supported on iTunes 9). This will mean repeating the import but it's reasonably fast and can run without supervision, say overnight, or in the background. Home sharing has an option to copy songs from the remote library to the local library - maybe try a couple of albums and see how it works for you; it might mean deleting or renaming the local copies to force the download.

Mark.
