How to put Internet site links on the forum.

Could anybody help me with how to put internet address links up on the forum?
I can't seem to get this working!

when poating you'll see a toolbar above the whitespace - one of the buttons there is "URL". Click that then add/paste your link between the two sets of brackets.

While we are on this subject could someone please tell me how, when you are posting a link, you can hide it behind something like here. I could never figure that one out and some of those old web addresses can be quite long.

Suppose the website you want to link to is

Code: Select all

http://www.hotnewsite.com

and you want your link to say "this exciting hot new site". Then what you want is

Code: Select all

[url=http://www.hotnewsite.com]this exciting hot new site[/url].

The URL button surrounds your URL with "url" tags. You need to move your URL into the first tag (as "url=...") and then put your text between the tags.
