Now you have me back listening to some of my very old trad albums again! Here's a few (six anyway) I would definitely listen to more than once. In no particular order with the magnificent exception of Planxty's first effort which will always top the polls in my book :) I'm sure people (hello Fergus) will be along to admonish me on the ones I've left out ie Clannad, Horslips, Mushroom (!), Mellow Candle etc etc etc........
1. Planxty : Ist
2. The Bothy Band : Old Hag You Have Me Killed
3. The Bothy Band : After Hours (Live in Paris - a long time ago!)
4. Sharon Shannon - Ist
5. Altan -Red Crow
6. John Feely - Foinn Thraidisiúnta ar an nGiotar Clasaiceach

Seconded. An amazing album.
If more in the song tradition then Barry Gleeson or early Christy Moore - I'm thinking "Prosperous". (although "Live at the Point" is good craic too). There's a young Dublin band called "Lynched" who are worth checking out as well.
Afro Celt Soundsystem might be a good gateway for kids trying to get an ear for Irish music.

It is. I think I'm due a new copy of that LP actually. I probably have a CD version but it needs to be on black stuff.
