SOLD Vandersteen 1C speakers

Hi,

I have for sale VANDERSTEEN 1C speakers in great condition-including boxes and heavy bases with spikes.

I bought them while ago taking risk but those proved to be too big for my room which is only about 12m. They still have superb soundstage but bass is too pronounced.
Otherwise those speakers are smooth sounding, great with vocals and natural instrumental timbre, almost wooden, worm texture, but still good detail (perhaps would appear interesting to QUAD fans)

There are lots of reviews and information available to view on the internet.

I have them advertised on Adverts for 1000 euro, but I am open for reasonable offers.

Let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks

Lovely speakers, your room is 12 metres and was too small for these ?

Interested in any possible trades ? I have a pair of Proac 110 standmounts and Target R2 stands which i think might be too small for my room. Michael

Hi,

I am not sound engineer but relay on my hearing and I think this 29cm woofer overpower the rest of frequencies spectrum as it cumulates despite my room is acoustically friendly. That would be my conclusion....

I might be meeting someone who sent me PM so let you know how it goes after the meeting (the date has not been confirmed yet)

Thanks

and do let me know how your meeting goes, it would be interesting to compare these 2 sets of speakers.

I heard them for a very short while at Maciej's place and I think they are lovely speakers. What I remembered the most was how expansive and coherent the sound stage was and how easy they were to listen to. Certainly my type of sound (however I am not in the market for the speakers ATM).

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks Sebna, the sound stage is massive but I can only guess it would be even better if they had more space behind and around them which as you’ve seen is impossible unless I break the wall to my neighbours. Sure with your Zingalis you do not need anything else for longer than only while, they sound sublime!

Hi,

Sure we can arrange something in next couple of days. I drop you PM with my mobile so we can talk about suitable day and time.

Besides I have pair of new ATC SCM 11 at home for demo at the moment as well. Huge sound from those relatively small boxes. They need good stands to sound best to provide tight well controlled bass, but the one I got are too high and flimsy so found best to use them temporarily on the bench.....with good results. Those are straight from the box so I think do not sound best right now but I hope will open within next several hours.

Regards
Maciej

I called in to have a listen to these tonight - I'd long heard of them, but never heard them. Have to say I thought they sounded lovely! Lovely presentation, great soundstage and scale - no spitty treble either....

Someone will get a bargain there and leave Maciej with regrets!
