Hi All,

As I zero in on a potential TT upgrade, I'm putting this out there to see if there is any interest.
Mint condition Clearaudio Performance SE TT.
Clearaudio Satisfy Carbon Fiber Arm
Clearaudio Maestro MM cart.

Comes with the original box.

Originally cost ~2.3K and Clearaudio have pushed up that price by quite a bit since.

Looking for 1250 Euro.

Pics available on request.

Like Ivor's ad this week, I'm putting it up here first before I get asked on Adverts.ie if it has inbuilt USB and speakers.

Dave

Dave,

I'm dying to know what you have in mind for the upgrade... coz it is going to have to be very very good to match a CA Performace SE. The arm alone is worth around 800 stg. Those CA magnetic ceramic floating bearings are very very good, gives excellent isolation.

May I guess... is it the Roksan, Palmer? Any ideas of what type of Tonearm you are thinking of... and what Cart... oh yes MC or MM?

Looking more towards a Michell Engineering Gyro Dec, the one with the extra plinth underneath and dustcover, not the SE version. I like the way those underhanging counterweights spin around. :-)

The Palmer one is just way too expensive once you add an arm and cart.
That said, I may be making a speaker change/addition in the coming weeks so that might push back my TT plans.

I think the Gyro-Deck would be more of a sideways move than an upgrade to be honest. They are a thing of beauty though. Only had the pleasure of setting a few of them up during my time at the Blackrock Coalface :-) but loved absolutely loved it!

Difficult enough for me to figure out, tbh, but I'm wondering if we might be competing... ;-)

hmm I dont think so. :-)
In any case they'd have to be a lot better than my Audioplans to make me even consider them.

Yeah I'd agree alright. A big part of wanting the change is to get something that looks the dogs bollox. And I've no shame in admitting that. :-)

Ha! Bear in mind the Gyro (like the LP12 etc.) benefit with the use of lighter arms in allowing the suspension to work properly. Michell would be best to advise in this regard I suppose. Happy hunting!
