SOOOoooo glad we do not get too caught up in Blind Testing over here, after reading this thread below I am even more in the "anything but blind testing camp".
Well done John Kenny for bringing some sense to the discussion....must be getting soft in your old age!!

Just shows how hard it really is to do this. And, for what its worth, that 2dB level change they are talking about would be very audible and could well be responsible for apparent differences. Its very hard to do this to full satisfaction of all - see even the confusion about the grounding!

if you cant relax and concentrate in a quiet environment, its going to be very difficult to get correct judgement
especially when it will be so close between equipment
level playing field is difficult to achieve too

blindfold wouldn't help the relaxation (be dom tisssh!!!!! ) ;)

The same is true in the wine world, there is no such thing as genuine "blind tasting" there are simply too many variables. Pseudoscience.

Ah well suppose I will have to drop by and buy some then! No harm in checking.

What was the aussie thread about. Please god the MQn and BAPC threads don't read like that?
I know the classical thread does but you would expect that sure they are a mad lot!
