It really does look like a 'toblerone chunky' as some wag described it :) Music that melts in your pocket but not your ears!

'Oh No, Pono'.......

is this what the ipod should have been? a sort of hybrid of an portable digital player and a quality dac/headphone amp

is this the end of €200 headphone plugged into €500 mobile phones resulting in terrible sound

heres to hoping
hard to believe it took this long to come to pass since the dawn of mp3

whats the price looking like?

I read an article on Forbes that was quoting $399 for the player and $15-25 per album

I can see all the wee kiddies fighting for a piece of that action ;)

seems to revolve around hi res material
wonder if anyone considered getting the best out of 16 44 first, and delivering all of that information to the output device
hi res brings its own complications with more data been moved upsampling downsampling loose something every time its changed, needs to be in its raw format not converted etc

anyway a good step forward

retail price $399 or $300 on kickstarter - delivery in late Autumn 2014.

What I thought was notable was that all the musicians all were saying how sound quality had bveen lost so much,m abnd how important the spatial details, reverb etc all were to full enjoyment of the music. In other words, what we all have been saying for years.
