Anyone used one of these and have any opinions on the sonics? I see they're uber-cheap at the moment (£89) so I'm slightly tempted.

Any reviews I've read or reports have been universally positive. I'd be tempted myself.

I think I read about that on parttimeaudiophile and foolishly ignored it. Looks interesting!

Well done Fran, looks good. Would it feed an amp though?

Apparently there's 2 outputs, one for headphones and one for line out - although due to the size is via a breakout cable. I also get a short usb cable apparently too. The output is apparently 1w for the headphone which is probably 10x too much.

We'll see if it's any good then. Lots of hype about it and it's bigger brother the desktop "pulse"

Have the Dragonfly since a year and currently I'm using it as a transport from a Media PC to NAD Amplifier.
It's made for both: Headphones and Amplifiers. Sound is good, but highs tends to be harsh.
It's not good with JPLAY. It can be used, but to find the right settings wasn't easy.
As it awaits all sound files in 24bit, until now it can't be used with MQn. But it works perfectly with JRMC.

Thanks taggart. I wouldn't be using it in the most demanding system, but harsh highs are definitely not what I'd be looking for. Hmmm...

Yes, and that's why I wouldn't buy it again, but it's good for the Media PC, which is mainly used by my wife. She has very good ears, but isn't really interested in sound quality as we are. For me serious listening happens only with my DDDAC 1794 NOS + HPA + Beyerdynamic T1.
Maybe the Meridian products (Explorer/Director) could fit your needs!? Tests I've read about them stated that the highs are more relaxed.
