Hi All,
Thought I'd offer these up here before going to one of the freecycle sites - all for evening or weekend collection from Dublin 4 (close to RDS). I'd intended to bring the older kit back to life, but 2 kids and a busy job means I need to rationalise - I have enough projects within my main hifi systems and not enough time... :)
Technics 635 cassette deck - never tested it, but the other kit I got with it all works fine so I guess this does too;
Wyndsor turntable/amp - tested and working. Motor could do with some oil, new belt and pots cleaning - a new stylus probably wouldn't go amiss either (although I never cleaned the existing one) - I'd intended to put this in the kids room for them to play with old singles and 78s. I have some old Panasonic 3-way speakers that go well with this too if required (but you'll need some pin and spade type speaker plugs);
Radiogram (Pye receiver Type P90) - love the look of this, and would have been a better candidate for the kids room. But receiver is not working - get a bit of static on the speakers, adjusting pots also shows them as noisy, but no sound from tuner or turntable - no time (or skill!) to fix;
On the wants side - if anyone has a budget working MM cart I'd be interested in giving a few sheckles to you for it - received a Mission 775s turntable with original 774 arm recently. I want to get it working as a deck prior to me transplanting the arm onto my LP12.
Cheers, Richard

Re: Freebies for collection...
Richard,
I'd be interested in the old PYE radio/phonogram. Basically as an ornamnet for our radio studios which is based in Dundrum (the town centre) but our first studio was in the old PYE centre in Dundrum. It just seems appropriate!
If I or any of the techie lads working there can get it working then great but otherwise it might become a curio of some kind. Would that be ok?
Again, a weekend collection.
thanks,
Ivor.

Re: Freebies for collection...
Hi Ivor - it sounds like very appropriate use of it! Weekend collection no problem, but just need to sort an appropriate slot for this weekend as we've a lot on with the kids. PM me your mobile and I'll text you.

Re: Freebies for collection...
I've got a Roksan cartridge you can have, not a lot of mileage on it. I bought it from Cloney's a few years ago and never really used it, so I reckon it only has a couple of hundred hours on its clock. At the moment I'm trying to cull the stereo equipment kicking around the place, so this would be a small but significant start. I'm in Dalkey, so not a million miles away.
Re: Freebies for collection...
Sounds perfect, many thanks JAW! I will send you a PM.
Thanks again, Richard
