On-wall speakers

Has anyone heard any remotely good on-wall speakers that could be used to fill a reasonably big, reflective space with decentish sound? Do such things exist?

Don't System Audio have some nice small book shelf speakers? I am sure Cloneys might stock them. Seem to remember them at a show awhile back and a few people where raving about them.

I'm not even sure normal bookshelf speakers will get past the veto here. I'm actually not sure anything will work, but I want to check the options.

There are quite a few in-wall speakers in the US in particular?

Hmmm, in wall sounds interesting but probably too invasive. I don't mind chasing a few cables, but I'm not sure about in wall. Anyone tried the b&w things that are about plasma depth. They used to have a pair beside the tv in cloney but I don't know if I ever heard them with music...

Are they the FPM4 or something like that. This is for surround sound or music? I think they are bit light for just music now that is only from reading opinions online. The guy I bought the PV1 off had some of them also for sale at that time.

What about magnepans or similiar electrostatic speakers?

That's what I suspected alright, Tony.

Electrostatics would be great sonically, but I think they generally need a lot of space behind them. In any case, the main issue here is getting the speakers out of reach of little hands, so floorstanders are out. Or so I'm told!
