Following on from the enquiry on the E_sorbs thread, I thought it might be a good idea to post about our new speakers which have been in development for about 2 years now. We have christened these our "Dubh" model.

They are a corner loaded folded horn, but are very neatly sized in contrast to most horns. They have a frequency range of ~45Hz to 30kHz and present an easy 6 ohm impedance load to the amp. They match up well with practically any amp we have trialled them with, once the power is about about 5w per channel. Not fussy about amplification after that, although they are very revealing of the amp (and everything else) used with them. They are not that fussy about placement - naturally you need to tweak the positioning to maximise the sonic return, but thats true of any speaker, and these are quite easy to house. They are available in black as standard, although we can do any colour you may want to order and are pretty WAF friendly!

We think they sound great - and those who have heard them have given us excellent feedback on them!

Yeah, you should get our to have a listen to the computer audio stuff as well. Its moved on hugely in the past while - even though I know you had a run in Tonys not too long ago!!

Indeed. In fairness for the night in Tony's we were comparing apples and grapes in a way, because both DAC and "transport" were different. I only wanted to see how the Wadia stacked up and I was happy with the results, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to try that shoot-out again! Ignorance is sometimes bliss!!

But yes, I'd love to hear all the computer audio stuff, especially having read the thread religiously. There's got to be some compensation for my nerdiness.

We had a great night here last week with Mick, Derek, Adrian and Maciej - great music and chat.

Must repeat it again.

The Dubh's are very much worth auditioning. We all know Fran here and the dedicated effort and time he puts into all things audio. A lot of us are also very aware and thankful for his knowledge,skills and help in keeping a variety of hifi equipment working. Probably about time he committed some of that effort to doing something in the commercial field and very much wish in conjunction with Gerry that it is a success. Seen and heard them a number of times now.Size wise they are perfect for 90%+ of the listening rooms normally found in most houses.Was really surprised at their depth which is fairly shallow,my spendor a6's which are kinda similar in size but are much deeper. From a design point of view they are hugely acceptable to the other half which is very important.For the listener who is even more important! they certainly do the biz.

Simon if your muscles are up to it at some point we need to get that wadia tank over again as I would be very much hoping by the time Nigel has finished his work be it in battery or wind power or whatever it will be shown a clean set of heels by de zuma yokes.

Synchronicity.....myself and Claus were just chatting this evening about when and if we were ever going to see pictures and information on the Dubh's.
Good timing as usual Fran, I had a listen to Derek pair here on my system and they sounded excellent on the Art Audio (nuclear powered) monoblocks.

hearing them with those monoblocks is something I wouldn't mind myself! Did they come with the small reactor - I'm still waiting for cold fusion!

I heard them last week. One word - stunning - .
Very detailed, neutral, a huge soundstage with great depth and easy to drive.
What more could you ask for.
