Hi-res audio on Blu-Ray

Just came across this. Probably old news but I thought it worth posting.
New BR discs dedicated to audio which will play n any BR player.
Could be interesting.

with all the downloading these days its hard to imagine blu ray audio taking off
but its nice to have a hard copy of your favorite stuff especially if its high resolution

I'm all for it! Some Blu-ray audio titles have been out for quite a while now. (Neil Young's Archives Box came in a Blu-ray version and there've been releases from Tom Petty - e.g. Damn The Torpedoes - and many others in the format.) I've got the Rolling Stones Grrr compilation on Blu-ray and it sounds pretty good, especially the 1970s stuff. Also, I've just picked up the Cinema Paradiso Blu-ray and I've noticed that it offers Morricone's complete sountrack in high-res as an option on the menu, which is a nice bonus.
Bring them on!

Ideally they'll work without the need for a screen. Insert the disc and they'll play.
