Just thinking out loud.....

It might be useful to start a wiki for the stuff in the PC audio thread? Make it a lot easier to find links etc than trying to search the thread?

Anyone willing to help out?

Fran

Certainly happy to do anything here as I very much benefited from all the stuff and remote assistance etc. I fully understand how a nice abc would make this easier for all.

Not sure how you want to start this Fran?
I can post as many details as I can about the build of the streacom case. The next build for me would be a lot easier as I found all the pitfalls in this.Nothing disasterous but the mobo was on and off 6 times at least while I battled with a few spring loaded screws.
There is no doubt if a decent abc was put together all the issues with getting us to work and connecting laptops etc would be overcome easily by most people. Not so sure about the scandisk wtg stick. Will give that a go at some point but it looks messy.

Rather than add posts on to this thread will update what I remember as problems.

pico power supply cable too short to reach the back of the streacom case(entry/exit point).Currently removed the small entry plate and have the power supply taped to the pin going to the maplin.
Maplin didnt come with any power cable.Luckily lent it to Pearse before using it and he fitted a power cable with appropriate pin connector to connect to pico. I will cut the cable in the pico and use a connector block for the moment to extend the cable length. It should be soldered but even though I have a solder unit it is poor and I wouldn't be the neatness on soldering.
When fitting chip make sure you ignore the streacom instructions about fitting the chip and heatsink to the mobo in the case. Do it out of the case fitting the pipes and heatsink assembly loosely.
Streacom usb 3.0 internal cable advertised on komplett is too tall for the short streacom case
