I have some Michell Alecto Monoblocks. These are currently only 100 watts a side. However, they can be upgraded to 250w for around £900 I believe. Let me know if interested. I would want €650 for them as they are. I have the boxes so they can be shipped to you and onto the UK for upgrading.

Do you mean physically big or just > 250 watts. If you are looking at under $2K (in fact considerably less) I would recommend you look at building/buying a pair of Hypex NC400 based amps. I just built one out of curiousity with good results.
Output power 400W/4ohms
Characterised from open circuit down to 2 ohm. Lower load impedances are allowed, 24A current limit
Signal-to-noise ratio: unweighted, min 124dB re full power, 101dB re 2.8Vrms
Output impedance: typ. 0.7 milliohms (corresponds to a DF of 11000) PSRR: better than 85dB
1010 Euro for the electronics and then whatever for the binding posts, RCA/XLR inputs and cases.
I believe it will eaisly drive whatever speakers you are planning to use and all around seemed a fairly impressive solution for the sub $5K price bracket

I am very curious about these also, I was just concerned about the current limit at 24A. That's doesn't seem an awful lot, can I ask what speakers you are using with these?
Sorry to take this off topic Will, perhaps you can PM a reply HifiFan.

24 A sounds like loads to me, unless you'll be using them for welding! That would be over 4000W into an 8 ohm load, and still over 1000W into 2 ohm. Good God, man, what are these speakers?!
