Using Ipad to post images

Post by Adrian »

Chaps,

My laptop has blown up, after nearly 5 years of sterling reliable service it has finally died. Graphics chip malfunctioned badly, root cause was the accumulation of dust on the cooling fins which reduced air flow to almost nothing.

When I opened the chassis the accumulation of dust was so bad that at first I thought it was foam packing, it was only when I started to pull at it did it come away in small clumps. I think I should have invested in one of those compressed air tins which one can use to help clear any fluff accumulation. Anyway lesson learned.

So I am currently using a Ipad, I am not too familiar with it, however if there are any Apple users on the forum I am looking for some advice.

I am not able to post images onto the forum threads, all attempts at copying the image from a tab in Safari and pasting it into the comment into the section fails. It just displays the www. address of the image, and not the image itself.

I have tried saving the image, but when I go to paste, nothing is pasted, I have tried copying the image, but again nothing is pasted, I have tried copying the www. address of the image, but again on pasting, the address of the image is pasted, but not the image itself.

There must be a different method to the one I am used to under Windows. If somebody knows please respond as I would be most interested to see how it works.

Cheers in advance.

I post all the time from my iPhone....

in safari open the image in a new tab (press and hold with finger on image= right click)

go to the address pane, again press and hold, select all, copy

pop over to tirnahifi

select IMG above and paste the link between the central pair of square brackets...

et voila

When I hold my finger on a google image it does not open in a new tab, instead it comes up with a option box save or copy.

So I saved the image but when posting the image above nothing was pasted in. Even though I selected paste.

Puzzling?
