Can be boxsets or preferably highly recommended single disc recordings of his symphonies.

These are recordings that hit the mark for me. I would also advocate for Neeme Jarvi's RSNO orchestral cycle on Chandos (it's very thorough and the textures are lighter than is often the case).

I have often wondered about that set, one can pick it up in Tower for next to nothing. I must get a copy of it so, thanks Ciaran

Two excellent Romeo and Juliet. I prefer the Rozhdestvensky.
