The Ristenpart set of Bach Cantatas was enthusiastically welcomed in International Record Review recently (possibly by Nicholas Anderson*, who's talking about them here): I'll be interested to hear some excerpts.

* A man who has been impressed by my system!

That's some solid name-dropping there, Ciaran. Nice work!

The Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau performance played this morning was particularly good.

I thought the Ristenpart excerpts were delightful. His Bach dances! I think I'll be getting a Korngold Violin Concerto: some of the melodies are really taking hold. Certainly the Gil Shahan/Previn as recommended: those excerpts had a huge magnetism to them! And now I'm thinking seriously about the Teldec complete Bach again!
