Filthy, Mouldy Cd`s!

Hi Folks. No, this is not a rant on the hateful silver disc! My problem is as follows:
I stored hundreds of cd`s in three of the Argos 256 cd wallet jobbies a few years ago. Initially it was only meant to be for a couple of months but I ended up leaving them there. Now I`m left with discs which have a tough, hard mould caked onto them at the bit of the wallet that the plastic doesn`t cover (if you follow me). I`ve tried soft cloths etc. to try and remove the mould but no luck. I`m quite wary of the JML type cleaners as they would probably do more harm than good. Any suggestions on a safe, cheap way of cleaning them?
Cheers. Dave.

If used gently. Also only rub any cleaning agent from the centre to middle - as opposed to how you'd clean vinyl.

Theres a chrome polish for cars called autoglym - you'll find it in any motor factors. That might be good too and will leave a mirror finish:
Probably a really good clean followed by something like that should do the trick. Do it with your least valuable one and see how it goes...

Sure it isn't from the middle to the centre ?

yes of course... middle to the outer edge.
The same is true even if you're getting a fingerprint or smudge off a DVD/CD

Otherwise T-cut has done the job for me when resurecting a few CD roms. It's also very important to follow Ivors advice, never polish in a circular motion.
