Following on from the coffee I hope to get a laptop to facilitate eventual purchase of JKDAC.
I did a bit of searching and this is the current favourite

Packard Bell Easynote TK87 with 6GB Ram, 750G Hard drive and Intel Pentium dual core P6100

Anybody use this or aware of issues. I am working on the assumption it will run Jplay fine. I only want a cheap laptop to do some surfing and predominantly use as a music player.

Tony , I think your choice would be fine it has W7 and 6Gb of RAM, an unknown is how noisy is it but there's no real way of knowing. It has a 32bit Operating System and to get a 64bit OS(supposed to be better sound quality) maybe something like this http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx? ... Thanks Ken I will verify that but cant see where it says 32 bit rather than 64bit. I checked on a different site and it specifies 64bit. Pixmania doesnt seem to show the bit version. It is coming in at circa €450 with 3yr warranty which is really all I want to pay.

Tony , you're right , it is 64bit , apologies all round. Should be perfect.
