Does anybody know beside Cloney who can fix a Cyrus CD6s cd player? Or Anybody familiar about Cyrus cd players faults? Mine has no power coming in at all. Normally when it is plugged in there's an orange light above the power button and it turns to green when switch on. I've changed the power cord but no avail. Anybody can help?
Many thanks,
Jeth

just wondering did you buy in Cloneys as they stock cyrus? Also what age is it as cyrus give a 2yr warranty I believe
There are possibly internal fuses but cyrus units are small and very packed so I would be very cautious about opening up. There is also an unofficial cyrus forum and you might find somebody who had the same problem there.

Thanks Ivor and Tony. I'll try those 2 websites and I'll let you know how did I get on.
@ Tony-my CD6s is more than 4 years old. I bought it from a friend a year ago and I have no problem with it until yesterday when I plugged in and I was surprised that there was no power. It was still working the day before.

It could be a simple fuse.

I opened and checked it inside, I can't find any fuse. The power connection from the power cord terminal straight to the toroidal transformer has no fuse. Strange! I tested the 2 terminals (input terminal/primary winding) with a line tester there's no connection that means the primary winding of the toroidal transformer is gone. I plugged it in as well and checked the output lines if there's a DC output power, there's non as well. No wonder that there's no standby light when it is plugged in to the wall outlet. So, I believed it needs a new toroidal transformer. I can't find any burst caps, resistors or transistors in its circuit board. I dunno how much will it cost me. Wish me luck. Lol.

Mandatory warning!!!! Please be careful - there will be lethal voltages inside, don't want to read your death in the paper!!
1You checked the fuse at the plug right?
You won't get continuity on the primary winding at all - if you did it would be a problem.
With the cord plugged into the CDP, but not into the wall, measure DC resistance across the live and neutral pin of the plug & report back....

That's what actually I did Fran. Checked the resistance across the live and neutral pin but no reading. The power cord is ok when I checked.
Thank you for the warning.

Off for repairs so!
Its probably possible to get a new Tx from Cyrus..... probably also worth contacting Cyrus directly as well as the hifi hospital. I've often heard of very good deals for repairs from UK companies - often they do an upgrade, or replace at low cost. I think Quad had a fixed fee, that no matter how dear the fix, it was always only a set price.
