I came across an app from Lehmann Audio with some handy Lossless V. MP3 reference test files.
Search App store for Hi Fi tools.

Any body got any others ? The free-er the better !

Android rather than apple, but there's a few sound level meters that you can get as free apps - very handy for working out bass humps or setting up subs.

My Son switched me on to an app called Soundhound.
Your phone "listens" to an audio track and identifies title and artist.
Worked on several jazz tracks as well as pop stuff.
Amazing.

there's "Shazam" as well, it does much the same. It's incredible how these pick up the obscure stuff. I think "Hound" is one where you can sing/hum/belch a tune into the phone and it can identify it. You can even speak a song title into it. I only know these as andriod apps... I presume iPhone has them too.

Not quite Hifi but for any musicians... a great tuner for instruments (Android) is "g strings". I've found it better than many "real" tuners.
