Hi,

Just wondering if anyone on here has a Leben amp I could possibly have a listen to, (ideally the CS300) . I don't think they are made anymore, and have always fancied one, so would like to see if I am missing out or not.

Many thanks,

Jon

I had a listen to a Leben integrated at Cloney's a couple of weeks ago.
I arrived in as Ivan was demoing it to a couple of guys.

Lovely bit of kit. Sweet and musical. Bass control impressed as I recall.

I heard the CS300in Cloney's as well. Very impressed with it, neutral, spacious and unforced presence. Loved the retro look of it as well, at first glance I thought it was a Trio amp from the early 70's!!! If I ever go down the valve route it would be on my audition list. Can't remember the price, but it was pricey enough.

The CS300 is around 2795Euro and the CS600 which is the same amp but with a bit more power is around 4995Euro.

Yes, thanks Ken - my secret is out. That's the one I have seen, looks nice and is a proper UK import too.

Decisions, decisions...

I have ATC amp and speakers at the moment, so it would be quite a departure from what I have, they do some things really well and others not so. My biggest complaint is the way they don't gloss over bad recordings, which at least half of my music collection is. Systems that I have heard that can do this, I find them to be too coloured and end up sounding the same after a while. I want to avoid this, the Leben might be a good candidate I think.

Plus, I maybe working from home more often in the future, and thought I could take the Leben with me and use it as a headphone amp.

Will do some more research later. Cloney have them on dem, but wouldn't go for a demo unless I was gonna buy new. I am considering new, but this would leave little budget for speakers.

Anyway, thanks for the info so far chaps.
