I came to both Schumann and Brahms relatively late in my listening order but it is strange how they work their way into your ear....slowly but surely!

So here I am this morning... breaking off my listen to Berlioz' Romeo & Juliet by Colin Davis half way through, because I had to pop into town to do some shopping. Knowing me, I can't resist a little look in the charity shops to see whether anything interesting has found it way onto the shelves, and the only thing worth purchasing was this!:

Speaking of the Brahms Piano Quintet, this arrived today, it features the sensational Italian Quartet and Pollini, what a combination!

It is indeed and that Herreweghe cd looks very interesting too; I better slow down or I'll need a second mortgage at this rate.
