Doing something similar here as it happens Jared and this is another one of them on CD....

Apart from the novelty factor this CD also contains some wonderfully pleasant and inventive music.

Having listened to John Adams’ Shaker Loops recently I took out his Violin Concerto for a listen....

This is an intriguing work with a wonderful slow movement and an exciting Final movement.

This is a stunningly beautiful recording with gorgeous playing throughout. The music is wonderful and the recording is excellent which does great justice to the musicians. The excellent continuo playing comes across really well and there is great drive and energy in the music.

Sparkling playing from Richter and indeed an excellent performance overall.

^^ yes, that's a standard bearer for the repertoire alright... ;-)

I must confess, I really have been in a 'Baroque Choral' mood of late... not sure why.

Milhaud Symphony # 5 and # 6

Alun Francis RSO Basil CPO 999066

Never got into Mihaud except for "Le Boeuf Sur Le Toit", "Les Choephores" and "Le Creation du Monde".

Prefer Martinu or Roussel actually.
