Tago Mago is a classic, Dermot, along with the immortal Future Days and Soon Over Babaluma. A shame that the later albums followed a more straightforward jazz-rock vibe, but the string of albums from Monster Movie to Soon Over Babaluma is one of the most striking (and influential) in 60s/70s rock.[/quote]

Amen to that :-) BTW do you recognise the other album?
I almost wrote Bryter Layter but then I looked again. It's Akuma no Uta by Japanese band Boris. Oft-namechecked but haven't heard their music yet. Any similarity to Ruins or Fushitsusha? By the way, have you ever heard Yamatsuka Eye's work with John Zorn's bands Naked City and Painkiller, Dermot?

Indeed I have Paul and I know I have a CD or two knocking around. Do you remember the Jazz critic who used to write for HI Fi World? I can't recall his name and I'm too lazy to look it up; you remind me of him and he was just so open minded to all the crazy stuff that really did not fit in HFW :-) Sadly missed though :-(

You asked are Boris similar to Ruins? Have a listen to the link below and see what you think....

The title is very appropriate for today’s inclement weather here today!
