I'm on a female kick at the moment. Don't ask me how I ended up with this 1969 Acid Folk, monster rare record. So rare it was never released until 2005! I had a quick listen and I ended up grinning from ear to ear :-) Looking forward to hearing it properly later on tonight (any excuse to get away from the television, especially tonight!)
Released on Finders Keepers...

I always dig out this forgotten classic around this time mindful of the fact that I used to own
an 8-track version of this album.

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Tago Mago is a classic, Dermot, along with the immortal Future Days and Soon Over Babaluma. A shame that the later albums followed a more straightforward jazz-rock vibe, but the string of albums from Monster Movie to Soon Over Babaluma is one of the most striking (and influential) in 60s/70s rock.cybot wrote:

Amen to that :-) BTW do you recognise the other album?
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
On a Bevis kick at the moment due to the fact that I managed to reserve a copy of the super rare and normally super expensive Superseeder double Lp. I hope to pick it up next week sometime and that will finally complete my Bevis Frond collection :-))
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Does anybody else like these? IMHO up there with the Allmans and Skynyrd. Southern boogie at its best!!!! The South will rise again!!!!
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
I used to own that album a loooong time ago and on double vinyl too :-) I think I got it in Pat Eagons record shop, when Tommy Tighe worked there. Wonder is he still there? It's one shop I never think of paying a visit, maybe next time....JAW wrote:Does anybody else like these? IMHO up there with the Allmans and Skynyrd. Southern boogie at its best!!!!
