but, do you like it?
I had several Brendel 'singles' of the Sonatas, which I really liked... so I thought I'd go the whole hog.

Do tell, in time, how you fared with it!

oh, I think we're in safe hands Fergus.. I already had half his sonatas on single disks, and his Bagatelles. Interestingly, I have the Pollini & Abbado LvB PCs box set sat on the sidelines, so I'll look forward to comparing the two, alongside the Kempff of course, which I already own.

A most interesting purchase; please let us know your thoughts in due course. Personally, I already own the Grumiaux & Mutter recordings (not a universal fan of Mutter's as you know, but she has always been a good Mozart interpreter), and I'm not sure whether the VCs themselves (all earlyish works of course) are interesting enough in themselves, for me to wish to invest in further sets... :-/

One can not have too many performances of Death and the Maiden.

Hi Jared, I have three complete sets: Abbado/COE (above), Bruggen/Orchestra 18th Century and Harnoncourt/RCO (hmmm). I will get the Bohm/BPO too.

Oh yeah, I love Brendel's Beethoven performances.

this might sound like a surprising recommendation, but consider getting Colin Davis's set on RCA:

I've seen it cheaper than this tbh, and its very good...
