That is a superb performance of the Ninth, one of my favourites in fact. Is that on beautiful, black vinyl?

Seán, I do not post my reviews there any longer. My agreement with "ICIYL" is to share my reviwes by posting links back to the site, which I understand. So when it is up, I will let you all know. I have done 2 concert reviews and 3 CD reviews so far for ICIYL, great folks. I am probably the most conservative (a word rarely used to describe me) in musical taste among the contributors. ICIYL deals only with classical music no more than 50 years old and mostly more recent than that.
I do like what I have heard of this CD. Chihara was one of the first contemporary composers I heard back in the 70's. His music has become more conservative since then.

That reminds me that in a fortnight I am attending a concert with the LPO playing
Carmina Burana. It's a cheesy old piece but I'm looking forward to to massed forces trampling through it!

I have never heard it live Darren but I can imagine that it would be a wonderful experience with the correct forces. I am sure that you will enjoy it.
