A lovely read Don, thank you. I am particularly fond of Kempff's and Clara Haskil's recordings of this wonderful work.

I know that it was not unusual for a recording such as this in the early 1980s but featured on that album were Rene Jacobs, William Christie, Christopher Coin and Konrad Junghanel!!!

Don't believe I have heard Klemperer in Tchaikovsky, if I have it has been ages. Let us know what you think Fergus.

Yes Don. it is an unusual one. One knows however what one will get with Klemperer; weighty, beefy and studied renditions and so it was with these wonderful symphonies. The Finale of the sixth was lovely.
