the test on paste.exe was conducted under Win 7 32bit, strange.
Under Win 7 x64, had to rem the sections containing the line with "sort param.txt ....",;
line paste > param.txt was amended to paste > File1.txt

I find 2.66 SSE2 dqa dqa unique in that it is the only player that renders the intro to one of my test tracks correctly (at least I think it is correct).
The test track is track 1 "Court & Spark" from Herbie Hancock's "Letters to Joni".
With all other players (including previous versions of MQN) I hear a brief, varying, low level hiss noise after the strike of each piano chord in the opening section.
I may have talked about this here before & asked about it. Some piano players that I know, heard it & said that it was probably the noise of the pedal usage. It never sounded like a realistic sound to me - I always thought that it was some sort of anomaly, either in the recording or in the playback. Not so long ago I began to wonder if it was noise modulation in the playback system.
Anyway. this version of MQN is the first time that it is gone, I think - I haven't checked it on my main system just through headphones via my laptop.

going to stick to my guns, but funny enough i preferred my generation on 2.66 sse4 v2
2.67 sse4 v1 and 2.66 sse4 v2 and 2.66 sse2 dqa dqa are my favourites
2.66 sse2 dqa dqa is throwing some great punches into the SQ ring
2.66 sse4 v2 might blend better across a range of different tracks

Just made a first comparison of my favourite 2.66 SSE4 V3 to the newly released 2.66 SSE2 dqa dqa.
I must say it was on my desktop system (JKennyMK3 into Mutex MC-3+ Reclocker into RME UCX into NAIT2 into Helium 400; Transparant Performance USB; 2 Apogee Wideye SPDIF-cables; IC Chord Cobra VEE3) which is not as highly revealing as my main system.
SSE2 dqa dqa is a very beautiful version I could live with any day. Good details, nice airy sound beautiful tonality. Somewhat reduced in depth of soundstage.
SSE4 V3 has more presence in the instruments, a bit more power to them which makes them stand out just that little bit better. But as said before also that somewhat sharper edge which is not present in the SSE2 dqa dqa.

i agree that theres a reduction of soundstage with this 2.66 sse2 dqa dqa compared to the best of the sse4's

Wow, brief low level? I hear it about as loud as the note being played! (in the right chanel) To me it sounds like a worn out old master tape that someone spilled their toast with jam on it! Do you have the LP? Is the sound on the LP?
