Sligolad and nige2000,

I took the picture after finishing the assembly and, fortunately, when connecting to the PSU, I noticed the cap terminals were inverted. I was so carried way with the improvement that I forgot the picture was misleading. I edited the post with a warning.

No harm done Adolfo...only lots of amazing sounds, a very welcome improvement here.
I have had 2 of those Caps sitting on a shelf since March and finally got one installed after your prompt so many thanks to both yourself and Nige.

Tempted to install the second one in the Control PC with another Audiowind but would not expect the improvement I am hearing from the Audio PC. Still the fact that it works so well I think I will install it in the Control PC at some point.

Been enjoying some great music for the past few hours :-))
Cheers, Pearse.

I finally hoped that I found a solution and you just throw icy water on me! :-)
Any other idea maybe, since no luck with the batteries?

I own an Intel Atom based board (Intel DM2800MT)and would like to supply power directly to memory as discussed in this thread. My problem is that I can't find the correct point on the motherboard to connect to the ram. As described already by Pearce, 'find the choke closest to the ram modules check the voltage, should be 1.5 volts'. In the image below I have circled the choke closest to the ram modules and it reads 10.15 volts. As I am a novice could be ready this value in correctly. If I am reading the voltage correctly, does anyone know how to find the correct point on the motherboard without the obvious choke connect? Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks Nige 2000 for your reply. Unlike the choke photographed in this thread the one circled has no connection points to read from. However both caps that you circled do have 1.5 volts readings. The question then is which one would be the correction one and do I replace that capacitor with the super cap? As it may be assumed from my line of questioning I am a real novice when it comes to understanding electronic circuits. So I am apologetic for the elementary questioning.

Had a closer look at the encircled choke and did notice connection points on the top side of the motherboard, not the bottom. It measures 1.5 volts. If I had to take a an uneducated guess I would say this is the right memory power bypass point. Hmmmm!
