Your first Gales with those serial numbers in the low hundreds are clearly very early. I haven't come across any mention of a "black" crossover but am aware of a 'Carmichael' (US built) version which is brown. There was quite a bit of swapping and changing with the earlier models - different pots, cloths, finishes, fixings etc.

My crossover first Gales is not a 'Carmichael' (US built)
The crossover is a normal one. (see picture)

The cap have been already changed but I want to rebuild whith very good capacitors (Mundorf Evo)

I just receive my second pair for refurbished and sale after.
All the foam are destroyed
The acustic clothes are the original one and in very good condition, maybe I'll keet it for mine !!!!

Hi, How did your second restore work out? I see you've a pair of Quads in the background.
