Must be worth starting a new thread JC "JC'S Audio pc tweaks"jesuscheung wrote:people seem interested in tweaks. i shall post 1 tweak a day. try not ask me why and to explain. just tell me if something is wrong/incorrect.nige2000 wrote:jesuscheung wrote:
If you do what I do,
disable HPET in bios
and disable "System timer" in "Device Manager".
That's it. all you need is one timer the "System CMOS/real time clock".
i havent tried it on my audio pc
but its helped for my win 8 desktop and headphones
Any more wisdom JC?

+1jesuscheung wrote:2.66s>2.67s because 2.66 is more enjoyable.
Good find!iori wrote:the file paste.exe referenced by MQn.bat behaved differently in Win 7 and Win 8.
In Win 8, a "carriage return line feed" is added to the end of the filename inside param.txt.
In Win 7, there is no "carriage return line feed" at the end of the filename. The results in a blank Files.txt
yup, the search goes on. 2.67 gets 1 cache line instead of 2, therefore has twice as many loops - 128 instead of 64, is that what affects the sound ?nige2000 wrote:My turn to be awkward
preferred 2.67 sse4 v1>2.67v2 and 2.66v2
thought there was more detail
still lacking the balls though
