I am honestly impressed by the average quality of the vinyls bought in Japan. They are all used and coming from different stores, but they are at least in very good conditions, very clean and silent. Even after a good brush on the spinning plate they don't develop the usual static electricity, like they have all been washed.tweber wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 7:34 pmNice!Brutus1968 wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 10:31 am I went with my wife to Japan for our holidays, and came back with a good selection of records. All used and in very good conditions. Many hours of good music ahead.
Best
Should I go again I will include a second heavy check-in luggage 😁

Just saw them this afternoon launching their new EP. A really special acoustic show by Faye and Adam. Magic stuff indeed

Re: What music are you listening to currently?

This is a little gem, very much of it's time. A couple of moody, introspective tracks, to my mind like Dr. Strangely Strange, One in a Million could easily have slotted onto a Kinks album of the era without raising an eyelid, Elephant Song is like a disciplined Bonzo Dog Band whimsy and Suite No.1 is just itself.
And all without a hint that within a year two thirds of Giles, Giles and Fripp would create the monster album that was In the Court of the Crimson King.
