^^ Good to see you back in the fold Dave, and I love both of those works... especially the Abbado/ Mahler 7. I believe he was criticised for some slightly slow tempi (compare the timings with Kubelik's galloping pace!) but I really don't feel it matters with No.7...

Welcome back. The Abbado/CSO Mahler 7 is marvellous and is second only to the earlier Solti/CSO recording in my (less than) humble opinion.DaveF wrote:

^^ an interesting LP Fergus, when did Abbado record the work and what type of forces did he use? I'm guessing the sound would be a little different to that of his Chamber of Europe Orch??
