v12 is more clearity. listen to a choir, with v12 I hear more detail of choir and acoustic, really an improvement. Also piano is very fine with v12.
Another nice step forward. Thank you, sbgk.
Hi janh

I notice you use the same software setup as I do.
Do you run 2012R2 in GUI mode or in minimal server mode?

I ask as on my setup mqn v11 and v12 keep crashing without notification. As I run in minimal server with AO1.30 it doesn't suprise me I don't get any messages as many Windows processes have been switched off.

Cheers
Hi
I run R2 in Core mode with Total Commander as shell, and when I then run AO, i choose Ultimate, and Yes to "Disable drivers and services", so pretty much is switched off. Hope you will have it fixed soon.

Hi Jan

Thanks for replying.

The only difference I just noticed is that I'm running my OS in RAM, so I'll try the regular version and see if it is caused by the RAM-OS.

Cheers

Hi Aleg,
I am in Core Mode as we are testing the KS versions here. You might give it a try?

Sorry that I didn't mentioned that... Not very clear :(

Take care
Thomas

Edit:
Just recognized your comment, Aleg. I have tested both: RAMOS and normal boot, check my post above....

Thomas, Jan

Are you using Thesycon drivers or drivers from another manufacturer?

FF UCX uses RME self built drivers if I remember correctly.
APL Hifi DAC I don't know.

So this new direct writing into queue might be incompatible with a Thesycon driver set, or is it independent of the actual driver?

it's still using the driver, so that's probably the reason, thought you had other devices, do they work ?

could try a few waits at the start, but the real benefit is passing the data to the driver and mqn sleeping.

Piano sounds like a private recital.

tried larger buffers and the sound gets more watery like.

Just tried directly via USB into the Hugo, which appears to use non-Thesycon drivers and also on this device the V12 crashes immediately after being started by control. The pre-V11 does run OK.
So maybe it is not the driver or both Thesycon and Chord driver are/behave similar in this respect.

Hi Aleg,

I use latest RME FF UCX drivers as you thought, Acourate over the FF Asio.

APL Hifi DAC I don't know.
I am not very technical, so take this:
APL (Alex Peychev of Bulgaria) HiFI DAC-S. originally with driver by M2Tech.
My update USB-module has a driver manufactured by APL HiFi. It also says "Digital signer M2Tech".
