That is one of the few remaining CDs on my Wish List Darren so I would be particularly interested to know what you thought of it.
It was my second listen Fergus. When I first played it a few years back I was underwhelmed, but how wrong I was! It's a very good performance and one that might make me look into other Mackerras' recordings of Mahler. The RLPO - as you will know from the LvB cycle - play wonderfully for this conductor

Thank you for that Darren. I had read good things about it some years back....hence its presence on the Wish List.

The playing throughout this set is as wonderful as one would expect. I was very taken with the charm of Dall’Abaco’s music. I found it energetic and a very pleasant listen. I also enjoyed the music of Kozeluch and Eberl whose music I had not come across before.
